Hi!
We’re Lindsay and Jordan. Well, officially Lindsay Taylor and Jordan Adams, but we like to do business on a first-name basis. It only makes sense – personalization is central to the work we do. Customization is the heart of our business.
They say that if you love what you do, it won’t feel like work. We’re grateful to say we’ve found truth in this adage. Ok, sure, there are days when the work feels like true work, but because we’re following our passion, our endeavors are fueled by purpose and meaning.
Here’s a bit of the story behind our business.
You might say we met on the Yellow Brick Road. You know, the one Dorothy traveled down in The Wizard of Oz. If we’re going with this analogy, envision us equal parts Tin Man (heart seeker), Scare Crow (brain seeker) and Lion (courage seeker). Oh, and our journey begins on a baseball field, not a farmhouse in Kansas. And, well, there’s technically no tornado, just a lot of swirling action around fan gear for our sons’ baseball team.
Jordan had developed a logo for the organization and both of us got busy looking for fun fan gear to place it on. We searched for quality fabrics and unique applications, seeking the perfect pieces. After some surveying, we concluded that the best way to get what we wanted was to make it ourselves. So, we did just that, and we discovered we loved the process. Then we asked, “Could we do this for others?”
And then… we got scared. Could we do this? We were already busy. A new business would require work and sacrifice and know-how we didn’t yet have. But we did have a solid base from which we could build. Lindsay spent years in pharmaceutical sales and now sells real estate. Jordan had worked in global telecommunications and, most recently, the nonprofit sector.
So, we dug deeper into the supplier relationships we’d established through the original baseball foray. We vetted equipment options. (Who knew there would be so many embroidering machines!) We scoured the fabric and product landscapes. Jordan honed her steam pressing and embroidery skills. Lindsay poked away on Excel spreadsheets and devised a workable business plan. Then we got to work on some unique designs. And we discovered the courage comes, if you keep stepping forward.
